Westbound Sponsor Talented Young Golfer

Westbound are very pleased to have recently started sponsoring an extremely talented young up and coming golfer, George Castle, to help him peruse his golfing dreams. Since picking up a golf club for the very first time in 2015 at the age of 13, George has gone from strength to strength and is now making serious waves in the golfing world with numerous achievements to his name.

Starting off at the Bushey Country Golf Club in 2015 with an official handicap of 45, it was George’s goal to lower his handicap enough to be able to join the Junior golf team, despite being told he would have to wait until the following year. George was driven by his newfound love of Golf and within 6 weeks he managed to lower his handicap to 25 and make the Junior team… all within 8 weeks of never playing golf before!

In the following 3 years, George has gone from strength to strength and has played and won so many competitions that his handicap has reduced from 25 to a staggering 2.6! This summer he also shot his first under par round at the very young age of 15 years old. It was at this stage that he realised he wanted to play golf professionally and would do anything he could to make this happen.

George now plays his golf at Moor Park and is the Junior Champion there, regularly playing for both the Junior team and men’s scratch team. George has also qualified for the 26th European Junior Championship tournament that will be held in Costa del Sol in Spain this November, to be shown on Sky Sports golf channel. George now wants to follow his golf dreams and has been offered a place at The Jason Floyd Academy in Spain, a fantastic training program that will enable and assist any talented individual to move to the next level with their Golf game.

We would like to wish George the very best of luck at the Academy, taking the steps to further improve his golf career and peruse his dreams within the sport.
