Why Westbound?

Westbound Logistics Services was founded by two Directors that have a combined 40 years of experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry, and over 5 years of direct sourcing and retail experience. In the space of 10 years we have been making continued waves and rapid growth, culminating in us recently becoming the proud winners of the ‘Seafreight Solutions Provider of the Year’ award at the 2014 Global Freight Awards, and again more recently in 2020 we were announced as 'Ocean Freight Services of the Year' award for the 2019 BIFA Awards.

It is, without doubt, our service levels, unique approach and our pioneering attitude to the way we handle our clients’ business that resulted in us winning these prestigious awards. But most importantly it is our clients who are our ultimate judging panel, and thankfully they frequently tell us that we are the best.

Danny and Ryan, our UK Directors, are hands-on account managers first and foremost, which helps facilitate a highly personalised service level.

It is the combination of our vast knowledge and experience in the international shipping industry, and in sourcing/buying and retail, that makes us unique. Experience is priceless, but most of all we really DO understand what our customers need because we have been there too. To our knowledge, there is not another freight forwarder with the same understanding and experience that we have, and various case studies have proven very beneficial for our customers. Westbound are not just a distinct, separate freight supplier to our customers. We assimilate with our clients, understanding fully their product, service and values, and thus effectively become the de facto freight division for each and every client’s business.

Having our headquarters located at the prestigious London Gateway Port from early 2014 has won us the kudos of being the first-ever Freight Forwarder to commit to the location and move in. In many ways it is symbolic of our pioneering and brave business values, to be the first into the unknown. This is a clear statement that, as one of the new generation of Freight Forwarders, we believe in embracing change for the future growth and development of our company, and as part of the larger freight industry as a whole. 

In 2016, we did this again. We took the bold move where not many British freight forwarders have, and opened our very own offices in China. (www.westboundlogistics.com). Our service levels and existing competitiveness have reaped the benefits of having our own staff on the ground. Together with Westbound UK and China, we are able to help not just the established experts in retail, but regularly, we are seen assisting brand new start-up businesses, whether it's retail, eCommerce or Amazon FBA sellers. We are leaders amongst the social help groups that stimulate other businesses into success, and more importantly, it's a joy to be part of anyone else's success story.
